Arriving at an Airport in England

On arrival follow your fellow passengers to reclaim your baggage from the baggage carousel.

You will need to pass Passport Control where your passport is checked before you are allowed into England. There will be separate queues for visitors from outside the European Union. The queues can be lengthy so be prepared for a long wait.

Estimate at least 30 minutes from touch down to getting through customs and passport control

Do check the airport website for notice of any strikes or situations affecting your travel on arrival.

Toilets are free in English airports with baby changing facilities.

All English airports have the usual car hire rental desks.

An information desk will be manned during the day

There will either be train connections from larger airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted or buses to take you to the train station for example Luton, or buses to various destinations.

Most airports have shops, cafes, telephones and Internet terminals for an hourly fee
