Holidays in the Midlands England

Click on the pages below for holiday cottages and self-catering accommodation in the Midlands England

The southern section of the Peak District National Park extends into the Midlands, a wide expanse of England that encompasses the cities of Birmingham, Nottingham and Leicester. To the west is a rural region that borders Wales. The countryside is attractive, dotted with farms and small market towns and villages. Many of the towns are of historic interest and worth visiting. There are villages in Herefordshire with distinctive black and white houses known as the Black and White Villages, and indeed, each part of England has its own character which is reflected in the architecture.

To the south of densely populated City of Birmingham is Shakespeare Country in and around Stratford upon Avon, also the town of Warwick with it magnificent castle. South of them are the Cotswold Hills and Villages – a part of England beloved by Americans.

To the east of the Cotswolds is the university town of Oxford, an attractive place to visit both for shopping and history.
